Three checks match a hub or drum

1. Bolt pattern: count studs, measure center-to-center (5-4.5" is the most common trailer pattern).
2. Bearing seats: read the numbers off your old bearings — the hub is machined for specific cones (L68149/L44649 on 3.5K).
3. Brake or idler: drums pair with brake assemblies; idler hubs are for brakeless axles.
