💧 Grease Seals & Dust Caps
The grease seal (#13) keeps grease in and water out. A leaking seal ruins your brake shoes. Always replace during hub service — they're cheap, and a failure is expensive. Common sizes:
- 3.5K axle: 1.719" ID (10-36)
- 5.2K–6K: 2.125" ID (10-60)
- 7K–8K: 2.250" ID (10-51)
Dust cap size is stamped on the rim. 1.99" (K71-315-00) is standard for most 3.5K EZ-Lube hubs.
