๐ง Grease Seals & Dust Caps
The grease seal (#13) keeps grease in and water out. A leaking seal ruins your brake shoes. Always replace during hub service โ they're cheap, and a failure is expensive. Common sizes:
- 3.5K axle: 1.719" ID (10-36)
- 5.2Kโ6K: 2.125" ID (10-60)
- 7Kโ8K: 2.250" ID (10-51)
Dust cap size is stamped on the rim. 1.99" (K71-315-00) is standard for most 3.5K EZ-Lube hubs.

Buying Guide ยท Measure First
Two measurements pick your seal & cap
- Grease seal: inner diameter rides the spindle (1" / 1.25" / 1.72" / 2.25"), outer diameter presses into the hub โ both are stamped on the old seal's face.
- Dust cap: measure the hub bore it presses into โ 1.98" (2K), 2.45" (3.5K), 2.72" (EZ-Lube 3.5K+). EZ-Lube caps have the rubber plug center.
