🔍 DOT Compliance — When Do You Need This?

FMCSA regulations require reflective conspicuity tape on commercial trailers and trucks that are over 80 inches wide or weigh over 10,000 lbs. Solid red tape is used on the sides of trailers; red/white alternating tape is required on the rear. Key placement rules:

Applied horizontally along trailer sides, as close to front and rear as practical
Must cover at least 50% of each side
Solid red is the correct color for side marking
Must meet FMVSS 108 minimum coefficient of retro-reflection (ASTM E-810)
