Before ordering trailer hubs or wheels, it’s important to verify your bolt pattern (also called bolt circle). The bolt pattern tells you how many lug studs your hub has and the diameter of the circle they form.

Example: 5 on 4.5" means 5 lug studs arranged on a 4.5-inch diameter circle.

How to Measure Your Bolt Pattern

For Even Lug Patterns (4, 6, 8 Lug)

Measure from the center of one stud to the center of the stud directly across from it.

4 studs → measure center-to-center across the hub.

For 5 Lug Patterns

5 lug patterns must be measured differently.

Measure from the center of one stud to the far edge of the second stud next to it.

Example:

5 studs → measure center to outside edge of adjacent stud.
