Griffin 7x14 Dump Trailer — Choose Your Configuration
The Griffin GT 7x14 is the most versatile dump trailer in the Griffin lineup — big enough for serious hauling, compact enough for a standard pickup. Available in four configurations, each built with heavy-gauge steel construction and hydraulic dump. Select your configuration above to see pricing.
⚡ Econo | Best Value 7x14
The Griffin Econo 7x14 delivers contractor-grade performance at the lowest price point. 14,000 lb GVWR, tandem 7K axles, dual ram hydraulic lift, 18-inch sides, barn-style rear doors, and D-ring tie-downs. Built for the buyer who wants strength and payload capacity without the extras.
Key specs: 14,000 lb GVWR | 7,000 lb axles | Dual ram lift | 18" sides | 10-gauge floor | Barn doors | D-rings | 3,904 lb curb weight
⭐ Standard | Most Popular | Fully Equipped
Our best-selling dump trailer. The Griffin GT 7x14 Standard steps up to 24-inch sides with a dual ram under-bed hydraulic lift, and comes fully equipped with tarp kit, 5-amp onboard battery charger, and drop-leg jack. Ready to work from day one.
Key specs: 14,000 lb GVWR | 7,000 lb axles | Dual ram lift | 24" sides | Tarp kit | Battery charger | Drop-leg jack | 3,904 lb curb weight
🔧 Standard + Telescopic | Telescopic Lift Upgrade
Everything in the Standard package — tarp kit, battery charger, drop-leg jack, 24-inch sides — with the hydraulic lift upgraded from dual ram to a telescopic cylinder. The telescopic lift provides a steeper dump angle and more ground clearance underneath, making it the preferred choice for sticky materials like wet dirt, clay, and gravel that need a steeper bed angle to fully clear.
Key specs: 14,000 lb GVWR | 7,000 lb axles | Telescopic lift | 24" sides | Tarp kit | Battery charger | Drop-leg jack | 3,904 lb curb weight
💪 16K Heavy Duty | Contractor Spec
Built heavier than the rest. The Griffin GT 7x14 16K upgrades to 8,000 lb axles and 16,000 lb GVWR for maximum payload capacity. Telescopic hydraulic lift, full tarp kit, battery charger, and drop-leg jack — the ultimate configuration for heavy materials like concrete, demolition debris, and loaded stone.
Key specs: 16,000 lb GVWR | 8,000 lb axles | Telescopic lift | 24" sides | Tarp kit | Battery charger | Drop-leg jack | 4,380 lb curb weight

Dual Ram vs. Telescopic Lift — Which Is Right for You?
Griffin offers two hydraulic lift systems on the 7x14. Choosing between them depends on what you haul and how you work.
Dual Ram Lift (Econo & Standard configurations) — Two hydraulic cylinders mounted under the bed lift in tandem. The dual ram system is power up and power down, giving you full control over descent speed. That matters when you need to stop mid-dump, feather a partial load, or carefully lower equipment onto the bed. The two-point lift spreads force evenly for stable, predictable operation. Dual ram is the industry standard for general-purpose hauling — dirt, gravel, mulch, firewood, and debris.
Telescopic Lift (Standard + Telescopic & 16K Heavy Duty configurations) — A single multi-stage cylinder mounted at the front pushes the bed to a full 45-degree dump angle — significantly steeper than dual ram. The steeper angle means sticky materials like wet clay, compacted dirt, and heavy gravel clear the bed completely instead of clinging to the floor. The front-mounted position puts 100% of the payload behind the lifting point, delivering more direct lifting force with less stress on the trailer frame. Telescopic is power up, gravity down — the bed lowers under its own weight, which means faster cycle times and more dumps per battery charge. This is the same lift technology used on commercial semi-end dump trailers and heavy-duty dump trucks.
Quick comparison:
| Feature | Dual Ram | Telescopic |
|---|---|---|
| Dump Angle | Standard (~35°) | Full 45° |
| Lowering | Power down (controlled) | Gravity down (faster) |
| Partial Dumps | Yes — stop anywhere | Limited control |
| Sticky Materials | May require raking | Clears completely |
| Frame Stress | Moderate | Lower |
| Dumps per Charge | Good | More (gravity down) |
| Best For | General hauling, equipment loading | Heavy materials, high-volume dumping |
