• Lubricate before install. Apply a thin coating of clean hydraulic fluid to the O-ring before seating it. A dry O-ring can pinch or roll during assembly, causing immediate failure.
• Clean the sealing surfaces. Both the manifold face and the reservoir mating surface must be clean and free of nicks or contamination. Wipe with a lint-free rag before reassembly.
• Inspect for damage. If you see tearing, flat spots, or hardening on the old O-ring, you almost certainly have the right part — this is the KTI reservoir gasket.
